Kelo Cote

Effect of Gel

How does Kelo-Cote gel work?

A "breathable" barrier against scar damage and reduced collagen production

Kelo-Cote forms an ultra-thin film that fits tightly to the skin, which prevents chemicals and microbes from entering the surface of the scar. The silicone layer is semi-occlusive - it is impermeable to water, but permeable to gases and allows the skin to breathe, unlike silicone patches. The semi-occlusive film reduces the work of fibroblasts and reduces collagen production, which leads to scar healing.

Hydration 24 hours

Maintaining a constant moisture level under the Kelo-Cote layer allows the damaged tissue to heal and mature normally, resulting in a softer and flatter scar. In one application, the gel maintains the water balance of the skin for 24 hours.

Reducing the size of the scar, reducing itching and discomfort

International clinical guidelines for scar therapy recommend the use of silicone gel to prevent the formation and reduce the severity of keloid and hypertrophic scars1. Silicone film prevents the scar from growing, reduces itching and discomfort. Scars are smoothed and softened, color is restored, aesthetic appearance is improved.

Ease of use

The gel can be applied to the skin in the area of joints, to the places of bending, to the area of hair growth, to large scar surfaces resulting from burns and extensive injuries. Kelo-Cote can be used with pressure bandages or other aids. The product dries quickly, does not stain clothes, makeup can be applied to the gel.

Economical gel consumption

The gel is applied in a very thin layer and forms a protective film after 3-5 minutes. The thinner the layer, the stronger the material will be and the better the breathability of the film. N.B. If Kelo-Cote has not dried for 4-5 minutes, the gel may have been applied in a thick layer. In this case, carefully remove the excess and let the remaining gel dry.
